Monte Mayor Golf Course, (Marbella)
Monte Mayor is one the Costa Del Sols most spectacular golf courses.
The course, designed by José Gancedo was opened in 1989. Concidered one of the most creative golf designers, his philosophy is to create a golf course without ostentation and with a lot of respect for the natural shape of the land. According to him, “Every designer has his personality and I do what God implies me to do.”
The Golf course is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The valley, in which Monte Mayor is laid out, clings to the slopes of Monte Mayor, under the ancient gaze of Monte Mayor Castle. The fairways are seeded with Bermuda 419 (as are Augusta or Valderrrama) and we have some the best greens in Spain.
The Driving Range, which opened in 2007, is simply breathtaking with 10 covered tees and 6 to 8 tees on open grass area.

A taste of what you can expect….
Hole 3, Probably one of the best Par 3’s on the Costa del Sol. Very intimidating, but a good shot slightly on the right of the Pin will take you safely home. If not, dropping zone, close to the green.
Hole 4, Par 5. A drive then a dilemma: do you go for the green - Glory or Misery - or do you lag your second shot on to the intermediate plateau? Then, to go to the green, you will pass across a lovely rustic bridge and discover the glorious water-fall cascading over natural marble stone.
Hole 13, Par 4, has an elevated tee that offers you a panoramic view over the course and out to the sea - Simply astounding!
